Northern Rhone-style (Nord) or Southern-Rhone style (Sud), it doesn’t matter. They are both Gold medal winners! 2015 Locus Nord and 2015 Locus Sud were both crowned Gold medal winners at the 2018 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition in their categories, Syrah Dominant Blends and Grenache Dominant Bends, respectively. 2016 Locus Rosé won a Silver medal in the Dry Rosé/Blush category.
San Francisco Chronicle wine competition (SFCWC) is the largest competition of American wines in the world. After receiving 6,960 entries from 35 states across the country, SFCWC has once again successfully narrowed thousands of wines down to an exclusive few. You can find a complete list of winners on their website, http://winejudging.com/
SFCWC holds a special place in Locus Wines team’s hearts since it was the first competition where the 2014 Locus Modo Red won an award, which led to further recognition at other competitions and review sites, like Wine Spectator and the Wine Enthusiast.
The award for 2015 Locus Sud is very exciting but it comes at a bittersweet time, where the its inventory is counting down fast to zero. There are about 15 cases left of the 250+ cases produced.
