90 Points from Wine Enthusiast for 2012 Locus Syrah (plus 88 Points for the 2013 Rhone Blend)

The 2012 Locus StoneTree Vineyard Syrah just got awarded 90 points from Wine Enthusiast (the rating and the review will be published in November issue of the magazine and its online buying guide). According to the Wine Enthusiast wine rating guide, that means 2012 Locus Syrah is “excellent, highly recommended.” What is another word for giddy? It doesn’t sound professional on a website but yes, giddy may be the best word to describe the mood around here.

The 2013 Locus Red, the Rhone-style blend of Syrah and Grenache got awarded 88 points. In the same Wine Enthusiast wine rating speak, that means the wine is “very good, good value and well recommended.”

Both wines had already gotten some accolades earlier this year at Seattle Wine Awards where the 2012 Locus Syrah got the double gold and the 2013 Locus Red got the silver. The 2013 Locus is getting better with time so it should get even better results from competitions and in ratings next year.

Both of these wines as well as the 2014 Locus Dineen Vineyard Semillon, the 2014 Locus Yakima Valley Rosé (and the upcoming 2013 Locus Keller Vineyard Syrah) will be available today, Thursday, August 20th, during the Bottlehouse tasting from 6-8PM.

If you miss out on the tasting today, check out our Events page for upcoming events or the Retailers and Restaurants page to see where you can get some by the glass or by the bottle.
