Purple Café in Seattle and Bellevue add Locus Sémillon

2015 Locus Sémillon is currently on the Purple Café’s glass pour list in its Seattle and Bellevue locations. The scarcity/rarity of good Sémillon from Washington wineries is not lost on them: Here is how they introduce the Locus Sémillon glass pour on their 108-page wine list encyclopedia…

semillon-from-menu

Sémillon is not rare of a grape in Washington actually but it is rarely revered. Some of

the Sémillon crops may lack acidity (especially in France where they generally mix it with Sauvignon Blanc for dry applications), but Rattlesnake Hills fruit from the renowned Dineen Vineyard certainly doesn’t. The problem with Washington Sémillons is that some of them are oaked. Just them the grape be, people. This is not your uncle’s Chardonnay. .

Go on and enjoy a nice glass of refreshing, balanced Sémillon with lots of aromas and a surprisingly rounded finish and mouth feel. At Purple café.
